To assist clients in deploying. growing, and maximizing the profitability of their communications networks across the country, Kile Park Reed & Houtteman attorneys tap their extensive experience satisfying the needs of telecommunications carriers both large and small. Our lawyers have negotiated and arbitrated numerous interconnection agreements for both traditional TDM service providers and VoIP service providers under Sections 251 and 252 of the Telecommunications Act of 1996. One of our Of Counsel lawyers, a former Senior Attorney at a major telecommunications company, acted as a lead attorney in the seminal state regulatory proceeding under Section 271 of the 1996 Act. Our attorneys have also litigated a wide range of telecommunications disputes before federal district and appeals courts, and before the Federal Communications Commission and state public utilities commissions. In addition, our attorneys also have extensive experience representing corporations in federal and state rulemaking proceedings. One of our attorneys led a successful initiative to persuade the FCC to adopt a client's preferred model for local number portability, resulting in the industry standard used today.

Kile Park Reed & Houtteman attorneys also bring to bear substantial experience in providing legal counsel to sophisticated telecommunications clients. One of our lawyers acted as principal legal counsel for a major corporation's Voice over Internet Protocol service for consumers, providing legal guidance, counseling, and advocacy on contract, consumer protection, privacy, E911, and tax matters. Prior to that, he was responsible for interpreting the requirements of the Modification of Final Judgment, the antitrust decree that resulted in the breakup of the American Telephone & Telegraph Company, for the same client.
